Martina Rea graduated from Ulster University in 2003 with BSc (Hons) Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She initially worked in Belfast City hospital for 18 months, then progressed to a Senior post in the Stroke and Older Persons unit in Ulster Hospital.

She held a specialist post in the Regional Nephrology Centre for 13 years working with patients with chronic kidney disease, multi modal dialysis patients and those undergoing renal transplant. She has worked for Fresenius Kabi for the past 5 years providing dietetic services and training to nursing home residents and teams throughout Ireland. Martina has a specialist interest in older peoples' health, nutritional assessment and nutrition support.
